Equipment Rentals Built on Trust
Wilcox Equipment has provided tractor and agricultural equipment rentals across the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta since 2022. Owner David Wilcox runs every job personally — you deal with the person who knows the equipment and knows the terrain.
Wilcox Equipment is a locally owned tractor and equipment rental company based in Isleton, CA, serving farmers, contractors, landscapers, and agricultural operations across the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Central California since 2022. David Wilcox founded and operates the business directly, providing tractor rentals, heavy equipment rentals, and optional labor services to operations throughout the region.
Built in the Delta, for the Delta
David Wilcox founded Wilcox Equipment in 2022 with a specific customer in mind — the delta farmer or agricultural contractor who needs reliable equipment when the field is ready, not when a regional chain's dispatch queue opens up. The business was built around the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta because that's where David works, lives, and has built relationships with the growers and operators who keep this land productive. We started here because we know here.
Wilcox Equipment started small and deliberately. David made the decision not to grow beyond what he could personally oversee—every job gets his direct attention, every equipment recommendation comes from his own field experience, and every customer gets the same number: (209) 400-5531. No call center, no dispatcher who has never seen the equipment. You can find us at 14874 Andrus Island Rd, Isleton, CA 95641—the same address since we opened in 2022.
Delta farming runs on narrow windows. Soil prep before planting, residue management after harvest, seedbed work before the rains return — these jobs don't wait for a scheduling queue. Wilcox Equipment was built to be available during those critical windows, including 24/7 Monday through Saturday. When you call a locally grounded provider, you get someone who already understands the clock you're working against—and that means less time explaining and more time getting the job done.
Delta Terrain Knowledge, Applied on Every Job
Peat soil behaves differently than standard Central Valley mineral soil — it compresses under load, shifts with moisture, and demands a different approach to equipment selection and weight management. David Wilcox has worked this ground directly. He knows how levee road access constraints—weight limits, narrow grades, seasonal soft shoulders—affect what you can bring to a job site and when. Knowing these conditions before you arrive prevents delays and protects both the equipment and the road.
Seasonal soil moisture variation across the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta changes what equipment can do and how you should use it. Spring wet conditions limit traction and tillage depth; fall dry conditions shift implement choice and ground speed. We've completed jobs across Isleton and the surrounding delta islands—including sites on Tyler Island and along the levee roads near the Mokelumne River—and we know how quickly the ground conditions can shift with the season. Andrus Island, Tyler Island, and Brannan Island each have their own quirks, and we've worked all three.
